Heavier felt holds more water. If your trays dry out between waterings, try 400 GSM. If your trays stay too wet, try 300 GSM. Samples of both are included so you can test them in your own setup.
Our mats are needle-punched felt, not woven burlap or hessian sheet. There is no lamination or plastic backing.
